Garmin WAAS deliveries have begun!
The new GNS 400W and GNS 500W Series products are shipping. These long-awaited WAAS approach-capable units are certified to the FAA's TSO C146a "Gamma 3" standards - providing both lateral and vertical guidance to many airports that have never had a precision approach. There are currently 640 GPS-based LPV approaches with minimums as low as 200 feet and 1/2 mile visibility. Also there are over 1000 LNAV/VNAV approaches that provide vertical guidance with WAAS capable receivers, as well as thousands of other approaches with advisory vertical guidance. With faster 5 Hz GPS position updates and improved graphics redraw speeds, the GNS 430/530 W-series can support even more XM weather content via the optional GDL 69™ satellite receiver.
